Outlandishness leads to CreativityCreativity Challenge 2001 #36This week my sparking source is FICTION WRITER'S BRAINSTORMER by James W. Smith, Jr. First page I randomly turned to said be OUTLANDISH. So let's be outlandish this week. Take some time to make a list of 12 normal things in your life or from a newspaper, magazine, book, television, radio or friends. Use this as your basic list all week during your 30 minutes of creative thinking skill development time. MONDAY
Take your list and think of one way to change each to make them outlandish. TUESDAY
Take your list from yesterday and think of one way to change each to make them even more outlandish. WEDNESDAY
Take your list from yesterday and combine the 12 into 6 pairs and think of one way to change the combined pair to make them outlandish. THURSDAY
Take your list from yesterday and share them with 3 different friends during the day and ask them how they might make them even more outlandish. FRIDAY Today pick 6 to 12 of the most outlandish results and think about how you might make them actually work. Live outlandishly, at least a few minutes each day.
