Alan's Creativity Challenges 2003-31
Simply Wander Each DayOver my 59 years one technique that has helped me recharge or spark my creativity and/or creative thinking has been to simply wander for a short while on the days I feel stuck or want to raise the level of my creativity. This week I did this in New Orleans and I am recommending that you try it this week or any week you choose in the future. MONDAY Take a wandering walk during lunch time outside if possible. Experience things as if you had never experience them before using each and all of your senses. TUESDAY Take a virtual wander through a magazine or two that you normally do not read. WEDNESDAY Take an audible wander. Listen to a new radio station. THURSDAY Take a gustatorial wander. Go eat in a new restaurant and experiment with new foods or dishes. FRIDAY Go for a wander in a store or mall and touch as many different textures and surfaces that you can from soft to hard, from dry to moist or wet, from warm to cold, etc. Add some wandering to each day of your life and keep your creativity fresher and at the same time often you will increase it at the same time.
