Creativity Challenge 13

Its a new week. It is officially spring. I have finally seen a comet in the sky and not just in a magazine, book or in a planetarium. Flipping through James M. Higgins' 101 CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING TECHNIQUES: The Handbook of New Ideas for Business this morning I turned to p. 78:

38/12 ESTABLISH IDEA SOURCES.

"To come up with ideas, I like to flip through magazines....encyclopedias, science fiction books, catalogs, movies, etc."

Here is your challenge this week: either use the following list or share your own list of 12 sources of ideas and generate or share one idea each for the 12.

Using this general list randomly or deliberately choose a specific example or use your personal list and make specific choices for each of the 12 i.e.

movie: Shine

Then either go see it or sit and recall your memory of it for details, plot, images, feelings, learnings,...write these down or simply allow these pieces to float in your mind.

Then deliberately think about (or unthink or nonthink) the following challenge and open yourself up for ideas, find them or create them based on the resource.

Your town or city has reclaimed blighted properties and has asked for ways to turn them into useful parks. What are 12 creative ideas you can come up with or discover using your 12 SOURCES for creative ideas?

Please list the specific source and the resulting idea.

movie: Shine

Look for the true beauty in the property. Look for the plants that have naturally grown on this property and produce a garden of them. Look for the views within and around the property and feature those. Allow the property's true uninhibited or uncontrolled nature show through.
