R.E.A.D. to Lead

Creativity Challenge 36

Several books have been written about creativity in the corporate environment (some think this is an oxymoron) during the past 15 to 20 years. One key element that is discussed in most to all of them is the significance of a "champion", a leader at the top, preferably, that "champions" the cause of creative thinking and innovation in the organization. Each book offers their own recommendations for what a "champion" or "leader of creativity/innovation" ought or needs to.

I simplify what they need to do to four key actions that form the acronym R.E.A.D.

Recognize creativity in all employees
Encourage creativity in all employees
Apply the creativity of all employees
Develop the creativity of all employees.

These are categories of actions a "champion" can take.

Your Creativity Challenge this week is to create a list of 3 separate actions for each of the four categories (R.E.A.D.) that a "champion" can take to advance creativity and innovation of all their employees.

Please share your responses with your respective list. Let's see how many different ones we can all produce.

Good luck and have a creative week in all you choose to do.
