Once Upon a Time . . .

Creativity Challenge 1999 #3

Let's dip into the richness of children's literature for our Creativity Challenge this week.

Take a few minutes to list 6 to 12 of your favorite fairy tales. Jack and the Beanstalk
Little Red Riding Hood
Humpdy Dumpty
Jack and Jill
Hansel & Gretel
etc.

Then each day have fun using your imagination re-writing one of them from the perspective of another character, the villain, a bystander.

Hansel & Gretel (I heard this at the Southern Order of Storyteller's annual Winter Storytelling Festival last year)

The storyteller told the story from the viewpoint of a neighbor of the old woman. She was a friend of the old woman and knew that the Hansel and Gretel were really nasty and mean, troublesome teenagers who were always harassing the old woman: stealing from her and teepeeing her gingerbread house.

The resulting story was very imaginative and very funny.

So each day this weekend (Monday through Friday) randomly pick a fairy tale and using your wildest imaginative brain cells rewrite the story from a totally off the wall viewpoint or perspective.

Please share your stories with the rest of the people on the lists.

Have a fun and creative week. It's always your choice to.
