Cre8ng™ Challenge 1999 - 41

Often when I feel stalled or am experiencing a form of "creative block" on a project or while doing a program or speech I rely on the environment I am in to help me change perspectives or to break out of the paradigm that is stopping me.

This week choose a challenge: personal or professional; to work on all week.

Monday On your way to work collect a list of the first 12 things you see that start with the letter "C". Later that day examine your list for links to your chosen problem.

Tuesday On your way home from work collect a list of the first 12 things you see that start with the letter "r". That evening take fifteen minutes to examine your list for links to your chosen problem.

Wednesday At lunch time collect a list of the first 12 things you see in the restaurant you eat lunch at that begin with the letter "e". Before you go back to work take fifteen minutes to examine your list for links to your chosen problem.

Thursday During the day keep a pad, notebook or index cards with you and write down 12 separate items that start with the letter "a". On your way home from work think about how those 12 things could be related to your problem.

Friday During the day while listening to the radio in your car or at work capture 12 things or products or company names that start with the letter "t". Then during lunch force link the 12 to your problem.

Over the weekend review the results of your efforts from the week. Share any breakthroughs you experienced.

Choose to be CREATIVE this week.

Alan
