WANDERING AROUND THE WORLD FOR CREATIVITY

Creativity Challenge 2001 #37

Just this week I returned from WANDERING AROUND THE WORLD FOR CREATIVITY for 10 ½ weeks traveling to the following countries: New Zealand (both islands), Australia (all 8 states and territories), Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka (two weeks after airport bombing in Colombo and one week before another bombing in the northern part of the country), India, Turkey (touching down in Dubai to change planes), Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, England and France. It is a trip that took nine months of planning. Most of the time in New Zealand, Australia and the Netherlands I stayed with people. Otherwise I stayed in a mix of hotels, B&Bs, guest homes ranging from a room 3 feet wider than a small twin bed and only as long as the bed in London to a huge Five Star Hotel room in Kuala Lumpur.

In the 73 days I traveled from leaving Athens on Monday June 25th to travel to Christchurch, arriving on Wednesday the 27th, losing a day going westward, to returning from Paris on September 5th. Therefore beating Phineas T. Boggs by 6 days. He made it in 79 thinking that he had not made it.

Those 73 days were used to meet creative people, creative thinking consultants, people in general; to see things I had never seen that most travelers go to see, things I went to see and things I could never have expected to see ranging from an opera at the Sydney Opera House to landing on a glacier in a helicopter in Franz Joseph, New Zealand to trying to climb Mt Wellington in Hobart, Australia only to be turned away by fog and snow to wandering around the great cathedrals in Salisbury, England and Chartres, France to spending a day in Disneyland Paris.

All that said to explain why my Weekly Challenges have not been sent to you these past 11 weeks each week, though the summer's worth were written ahead of time and place on my website: , for your use while I was off wandering.

This week's challenge to the faithful CC users consists of spending time taking virtual trips.

TUESDAY - visit a country in South America

WEDNESDAY - visit a country in Europe

THURSDAY - visit a country in Asia

FRIDAY - visit a country in Africa

SATURDAY - visit a territory or state in Australia

While you are visiting deliberately look for examples of creative thinking or creativeness in human creations or nature.

Each country and continent possesses highly unique people, plants, animals, terrain.

Enjoy them virtually each day to help enrich and spark your creativeness for the rest of the day.

It is great to be back.
