"Right As Rain" by the Buckets Full

Creativity Challenge 2002 #05

This week let's practice two creative thinking traits: 1) unusual viewpoint , 2) imaginative.

During this week spend 15 to 30 minutes each day, Monday thru Friday, during your Creativity development time, driving, waiting time, a meal time (alone or with friends/family} instead of reading the newspaper playing with clichés.

Begin each session by writing 6 to 12 clichés or collect them during the week from other people, review a book about clichés (I recall having bought one but don't know where it is among my unorganized collection of miscellaneous books) or explore the internet for websites about clichés and then select 6 to 12 each day.

I.E.: Select a cliché you remember or from your growing collection: "Right as rain", "Faster than a Speeding Bullet", "Fresh as Spring", etc.. Examine it for the actual meaning behind it. Then write a series of your own fresh future clichés to replace it.

For more fun share them with the list that you received my CCs from each week or directly with me and see how many we can collectively create during the next 5 days. I will collect, combine and redistribute them to everyone who requests an electronic copy of them.

Have fun collecting and creating clichés.

Alan
