My Life is Full of Creativity

Creativity Challenge 1999 #44

Flipping through Barbara Ann Kipfer's book: 14,000 THINGS TO BE HAPPY ABOUT, sparked this idea generating and creative skill enhancing daily exercise.

a. you will need a pad of paper, loose sheets of paper, a journal, notebook, index cards or pieces of paper, your computer; whatever you choose that works best for you.

b. begin writing down everything you remember from your life from the beginning to now that was fun, enjoyable, exciting, fantastic. Do this for 10 to15 minutes. If you find yourself wandering through a particular memory and experience that is recalled you have the option to simply enjoy it or to stop and remind yourself to stay on task. You decide.

c. when you stop look for the patterns or categories, you listed, i.e.: birthdays, vacations, celebrations, school, work, family, friends, etc.

d. ask yourself which of these involved your creativeness or someone else's.

e. after doing this four times (Monday through Thursday) think and plan about how you will do some of those fun, exciting, wonderful, fantastic, enjoyable, creative things next week if not in reality, virtually or in your imagination.

If sad memories return and make the exercise painful choose to grow from the experience or stop and start again the next day with things you might do that would be fun, exciting, wonderful, fantastic, enjoyable, creative things next week or the week after.

Your life will generally be as creative as you choose it to be.

Have a creatively great week!
