Just Hopping Around

Creativity Challenge 2002 #07

Sorry about being a week late with this Challenge. I was in Honolulu/Waikiki attending the National Speakers Association's Western Winter Workshop and playing for a few extra days on the islands of Hawaii. While I was in Hawaii my goal was to have a mix of experiences and to see a sampling of the 8 islands. By foot, car, taxi, bus, helicopter, and airplane I visited and toured 3 islands: Oahu (Honolulu/Waikiki), Lauai and Hawaii (the BIG island). A new speaker friend offered me the gift of her time to tour me around the BIG island. A cyberspace friend, Herman Gill met me for breakfast and took me to his favorite breakfast restaurant on the beach near the base of Diamond Head. Yes some of us have to do the hard/tough work (very old joke). All this is leading up a new challenge. Whether you can physically or actually travel this week or not your challenge is to visit and learn about a new area each day.

MONDAY - Travel and learn about a foreign country of your choice using the internet/web, your local library, a local travel agent or actually get up and go if you can.

TUESDAY - Travel to a different part of your state, province, district and meet a couple new people to interview about where they live or work.

WEDNESDAY - Travel to a new part of your city or town and meet some people who work there while you are having a meal, snack or buying something.

THURSDAY - Travel to another time in history you have never read about in the past.

FRIDAY - Travel to another time in the future on another planet not in our solar system and learn/imagine things about it.

Have fun journeying to expand your creative resources this week.
