Be Observingly Curious To Spark Your Creativity

Creativity Challenge 2002 #18

Two of the traits many writers have written about and researchers have studied about creativeness are curiosity and being observant. Each day this week during your creative development time focus on a single one of the primary 5 physical senses: sight sound, touch, taste, smell. Then experience each of them individually as often during a particular day as you.

Step one during your 15 to 30 minute creative development time make a list of every aspect or trait of things you can observe, become aware of, experience through that single sense without using any of the other four remaining physical senses. Step two carry a pencil/pen and note book or some electronic note taking device with you during the entire day and record exampls as often as you can that day.

I.E.: Sight - With sight we can experience color, visual pattern..... without using any of the other senses. What else can you sense only through sight? Then during the day take these abilities you can use through sight and collect examples.
