Synonyms & Antonyms & homonyms

Creativity Challenge 2002 #28

Making our minds more instantly flexible can always help expand and enrichen our creative thinking abilities.

This week let's experiment with synonyms and antonyms and homonyms.

Get yourself a dictionary and a thesaurus.

First randomly flip through a dictionary, a fiction book or a newspaper and randomly select 30 words other than little words (a, an, the) or prepositions or pronouns.

Second write each one down on a separate index card or piece of paper.

Then each morning pick 3 to 6 to work/play with.

MONDAY

List as many synonyms for your chosen words as possible

TUESDAY

List as many antonyms for your chosen words as possible

WEDNESDAY

List as many synonyms for your chosen words as possible.

THURSDAY

List as many homonyms you can from all three lists.

FRIDAY

Combine Monday's and Tuesday's words and generate more antonyms and synonyms, experimenting with combinations of the words.

When possible add words from other languages that are synonyms or antonyms for your chosen words throughout the week.

Have a creative, unique, novel, unusal or dull, boring, routine, monotous week.
