MARVELOUSLY, GORGEOUSLY, LUXURIOUSLY CREATIVE WEEK

Creativity Challenge 2002 #52

Let's have fun this last week of the calendar year by adding superlatives, adjectives, adverbs, visually exciting nouns, dramatic verbs to our conversations this week.

A speaker friend of mine, Keith Harrell, has become well known for his use of superlatives. His main message is ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING. The message is not creative or unique. What is creative and unique is how Keith does it.

I have known him for several years since we often spoke for the same government agency clients here in Georgia: him doing great warm up keynotes and me doing breakout sessions, workshops or facilitating the complete retreat. One of his anecdotes comes from his experiences as a marketeer for IBM. Whenever people would ask him how he was doing he would respond by saying at the top of his lungs and very physically dramatic: SUPER FANTASTIC and I'm trying to get better. Another anecdote had to do with his phone messages. People often would call just to hear his newest message. If they got him live they would tell him to hang up so they could hear his latest message.

Let's work with his degree of enthusiasm to increase our creativeness this week through our words.

MONDAY
Use as many different superlatives as you can today when you speak to people

TUESDAY
Use multiple dramatic adjectives today

WEDNESDAY
Use very visual and dynamic nouns today

THURSDAY
Use very extensive adverbs today

FRIDAY
Use very expressive and dramatic verbs today

If you are a student or around typical English or grammar teachers this week I suggest beware of their reaction and prepared for it.

Have a highly, phenomenally, exciting, superb, dramatic, pulsating, happily creative week.
