Alan's Creativity Challenges 2003-09

Emotions Can Yield Creativity!!!

Emotion seems to be a strong factor in creative thinking. I have noticed often
that people who are happy to extremely ecstatic tend to become more creative. I
have also noticed that when people are extremely angry they also can become more
creative. Another emotional state that seems to generate more creativeness is
peacefulness or meditative states. Yet when people are bored their creativeness
seems to disappear or become very quiet.

This week let's experiment with our emotions for 15 to 30 minutes each day to tap
into and generate creative thinking.

Spend 10 to 15 minutes each day generating a specific mood. It may be best to do
this alone and away from other people.

MONDAY
Happiness...hink of various ways to generate this mood in yourself. Once you
sense you have created it generate ideas for how to improve an object in the room
or location you are in at the moment.

TUESDAY
Anger...think of various ways to generate this mood in yourself. Once you sense
you have created it generate ideas for how to improve an object in the room or
location you are in at the moment.

WEDNESDAY
Peacefulness...think of various ways to generate this mood in yourself. Once you
sense you have created it generate ideas for how to improve an object in the room
or location you are in at the moment.

THURSDAY
Hatred...think of various ways to generate this mood in yourself. Once you sense
you have created it generate ideas for how to improve an object in the room or
location you are in at the moment.

FRIDAY
Silliness...think of various ways to generate this mood in yourself. Once you
sense you have created it generate ideas for how to improve an object in the room
or location you are in at the moment.

The goal is to practice generating moods to explore their individual impact on
your creative thinking in the moment.

Please send examples of your results. I'll collect them and share them all later
with your approval.

Have a fun week by tremendously support of the creativity that surrounds you.

Alan
