Celebrate Holiday Creativeness

Creativity Challenge 1998 #15

For Christians and Jews alike this weekend is a high holiday weekend. The beauty of the Spring day we are having and the Holidays sparked this Challenge.

List as many holidays as you can...
Easter, Passover, Christmas, Channukah, Halloween, your birthday, anniversary, mothers/fathers day.

Think about the purpose and joys of your favorite holiday(s).

Then read down the list of holidays and think about the creative ways you celebrate these days. Perhaps you can look up new holidays in an Almanac and begin celebrating those this year.

Write down all the feelings, purposes, joys, benefits, results of the holidays you celebrate. Think about the senses you use more of on a holiday.

Then try to apply those feelings, purposes, joys, benefits, results to a current challenge. See if a celebrative mood can boost your creativeness.

Please share the unusual, unique, novel holidays you celebrate. Perhaps you celebrate "Twins Day" because you are a twin. Perhaps you celebrate the birthday of one of your heroes. Perhaps you celebrate an unusual historic date.

Have a wonderfully creative week.
